Marriott has updated its coronavirus (COVID-19) reservation policies as of June 3, 2020 (didn’t push the update to the website until yesterday), that waives all cancellation fees and refunds prepayments.

The update that was instituted yesterday deals with extending the waiver from June 30 to July 5, 2020 (covers the 4th of July holiday).

메리어트는 6월30일까지의 최소불능 요금을 포함한 모든 예약을 숙박예정 24시간 전에만 취소변경시 페널티없이 환불을 해준다는 정책이었습니다.

그런데 7월5일까지로 5일간만 더 연장한다고 발표하였습니다.

왜 5일간만 더하는지는 모르겠으나...진짜 짠 정책을 발표하고 있습니다.

Marriott coronavirus (COVID-19) reservation policy waives all cancellation fees and refunds prepayments for all existing reservations for any arrival date if done 24 hours before the scheduled arrival or by July 5, 2020.

Reservations made between March 13 – July 5, 2020, for any arrival date, can also be canceled without penalties for up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival. Marriott will also waive points expiration, and extends Suite Night Awards and certificates.

For all Marriott International hotels world-wide, we are implementing the following policies:

• For guests with existing reservations for any future arrival date, including reservations with pre-paid rates that are typically more restrictive, we will allow full changes or cancellation without a charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival,* as long as the change or cancellation is made by July 5, 2020. Please note that any changes to existing reservations will be subject to availability and any rate differences.
• For guests making new reservations for any future arrival date, including reservations with pre-paid rates, between today and July 5, 2020, we will allow the reservation to be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date.* Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences.

Weird that Marriott changed the reservation cancellation policy by mere FIVE DAYS when Hyatt already pushed it the other day until July 31, 2021.

요약하면 7월31일까지 예약된 모든 숙박( 취소불능 요금포함-내년 2021년 7월31일까지)을 도착24시간전에만 바꾸거나 취소할경우 페널티없이 모두 환불해 주겠다는 환불정책.

Conclusion

You have to be very careful with any reservation you make on or after July 1 this year. I am 100% sure that some hotels will adjust their cancellation policies to be far more restrictive than Hyatt’s global one.

하얏트의 취소정책도 꽤 명확합니다. 7월31일까지는 예약해도 되겠네요.

다만 90일이라는 기간을 제시해놓았습니다.

새로운 예약에는 논란을 없애기위해, 지금부터의 예약은
